The traditional concrete construction model for mineral processing plants can no longer keep pace with the modern mining industry. Long construction periods, uncontrolled costs, and difficult implementation have become unavoidable obstacles. Xinhai Mining’s modular steel structure concentrator solution effectively solves these three core problems, helping customers achieve fast construction, cost savings, stable quality, and easy deployment for all mining site conditions.

In the current mining industry, efficiency and cost control directly determine project profits. Traditional concrete concentrators have obvious drawbacks that reduce investment returns.
1. Unreliable Construction Schedule
Concrete construction
is a wet operation restricted by weather. Work must stop in
rainy or low-temperature conditions. In complex geological areas, foundation
work alone takes months. The standard cycle is 12–18 months,
and half-year delays are common, causing direct profit loss.
2. Uncontrolled Costs & Prone to Overruns
Heavy
building materials lead to high transportation costs in remote areas. Labor
expenses are also substantial. Budget overruns of over 30% are
common. Later reconstruction is difficult and expensive, resulting in very low
cost performance.
3. Difficult Implementation & Production
Risks
Concrete construction depends heavily on manual skills with no
unified standards. Transportation of large components is extremely difficult in
mountainous or remote areas. After production, cracking and
leakage often occur due to vibration and humidity, threatening safety
and causing high maintenance costs.

Steel structure concentrators meet modern mining needs in policy compliance, site adaptability, and working condition compatibility, becoming the preferred choice for new projects.
1. Compliant with Green Mining Policies
Steel has a
recycling rate of over 90% with less dust and noise pollution.
It fully meets Zero-Waste Mines and Green Mine standards,
supporting smoother project approval.
2. Strong Adaptability to Complex Sites
Lightweight steel
components require less foundation support and can be transported in separate
units. Transportation difficulty and cost are reduced by nearly
50% for remote areas.
3. Durable in Special Working Conditions
Steel provides
excellent seismic resistance and toughness. With professional
anti-corrosion treatment, it performs better than concrete in humid and
vibrating environments for long-term use.

Xinhai’s optimized modular solution delivers higher efficiency, controllable costs, and stable quality with four key strengths:
1. Low Construction Threshold, Weather-Independent
Core
parts are factory-prefabricated and assembled on-site like
building blocks. Construction is not affected by normal weather. The period is
shortened by over 50%, generally completed in 3–6
months.
2. BIM 3D Design to Avoid Errors
Full-discipline
BIM 3D modeling simulates layout and detects conflicts in
advance with 98% resolution efficiency, eliminating rework and
design changes.
3. Standard Modular Construction
Components are produced
with precision within ±2 mm. Overall costs are reduced by
20%–30%. Capacity expansion and process upgrades are flexible
by adding modules.
4. All-Bolt Connection for Easy Installation &
Maintenance
Full bolted connections improve efficiency by
30%. Modules can be disassembled without damage, extending
service life and reducing maintenance costs.

1. 3000 tpd Chromite Ore Flotation Concentrator in South
Africa
The project is located in a remote mining area in South
Africa with poor transportation, difficult material delivery, and harsh
construction conditions. Using traditional concrete construction, material
transportation and foundation work alone were estimated to take more than 8
months, far exceeding the expected schedule. Xinhai adopted a modular
steel structure solution, dividing the concentrator into over 70
standardized modules. After prefabrication in Chinese factories, modules were
delivered to the mine via sea-land combined transport. Full installation and
commissioning were completed on-site in only 4 months for a smooth start-up.

BIM 3D design was used throughout the project to avoid pipeline and equipment conflicts in advance. All-bolt connections reduced construction difficulty, allowing local ordinary construction teams to complete assembly. After commissioning, the concentrator operated stably with a qualified chromite flotation recovery. The schedule was shortened by 8 months, and construction costs were reduced by 25% compared with the traditional model, winning high customer recognition.
2. 1.2 Mtpa Complete Equipment Gold Concentrator in
Mongolia
Mongolia has long, severe winters with extremely low
temperatures, making traditional concrete wet work impossible and the effective
construction period extremely short, so the schedule could not be guaranteed.
The region also has permafrost geology, making concrete foundation work
difficult and costly. Xinhai provided a customized modular steel
structure concentrator. Core components received special anti-freeze
and anti-corrosion treatment during factory prefabrication. Modular assembly is
not restricted by low temperatures, adapting to the local harsh climate.

Xinhai provides full-industry-chain EPC services with One Mine, One Solution customization for copper, gold, chromite, and other minerals. We use Q355B high-quality steel with Grade 2 structural safety and over 50 years of designed service life.
