Xinhai conducted a full investigation and compared three schemes: open-pit mining, open-pit to underground mining, and underground mining.

After detailed analysis, open-pit mining posed severe collapse and landslide risks, created heavy environmental impacts, involved difficult community relocation, and achieved an IRR of only 4.91%.

Open-pit-to-underground offered a long service life but required excessive investment and high transition risks.

We ultimately recommended underground mining, which reduced safety risks, lowered environmental impact, lifted resource utilization from 60% to 95%, and achieved an IRR of 12.81%. This decision helped the client avoid millions in potential losses.

2. Polymetallic Mine, Tajikistan – Phased Design Saves USD 15 Million in Retrofit Costs
